Several music-related startups have benefited from Amazon’s Alexa Fund, including Endel, Yousician and Splash. Could we see some more emerge from the company’s newly-announced AWS Generative AI Accelerator?

It’s a 10-week program launched by Amazon’s cloud services division for seed and pre-seed startups working with generative AI technologies around the world.

Mentoring, technical training, professional networks and a demo day for investors, journalists and customers are among the benefits, along with up to $300k of credits for Amazon’s web services.

Amazon is not taking a stake in participating startups as a requirement for the accelerator – although we daresay that if it is impressed with any, it could offer them investment later. 10 firms will be chosen to take part.

While Music Ally’s thoughts naturally jump to AI music startups, who the accelerator would certainly be relevant for, the program has a wide remit.

In an introductory blog post, Amazon’s Howard Webb cited the film industry, healthcare, finance and manufacturing as some of the other sectors covered.
