In August 2020, we reported on Muse’s plans to launch a ‘Simulation Theory: Virtual Experience’ with virtual reality startup Stageverse. It was originally due to launch that autumn, but just over a year later, the full show is now ready for its debut.

Now called ‘Muse: Enter The Simulation’, it will be available through Stageverse’s iOS, Android and Oculus Quest apps – trailer here – and is the first concert to be made available in the company’s virtual stadium.

The experience will be a combination of video footage of a Madrid concert in 2019 with 16 different viewpoints to choose from, and interactive/social features including chat and virtual merch for fans’ avatars.

The show will initially be free as part of Stageverse’s open-beta launch. Alongside that launch, the startup has raised $7.5m of funding and signalled plans to enter another buzzy music/tech area: NFTs.
