Overview

The Centre national de la musique (CNM), in partnership with Dealers and Brothers and Canal_Mx, is seeking six Mexican artists (songwriters, composers, topliners, and producers in pop or rap music) to participate in a songwriting camp alongside six French songwriter – composers. This second edition of the project will take place from November 22 to 27, 2025, at Panoram Studios, located in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City

The French music industry is a rising force on the global stage, consistently ranked among the top six music markets worldwide. In 2023, it generated over €1.1 billion in recorded music revenue, with streaming now accounting for more than 80% of that total. French music exports continue to thrive, driven by the international success of artists like Aya Nakamura, Polo & Pan, L’Imperatrice and Christine and the Queens. Many French artists blend languages and genres – pop, electronic, urban, and chanson – creating a distinct, hybrid sound that resonates with global audiences. This diverse and evolving musical identity makes France a uniquely rich environment for collaboration.

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have further elevated France’s cultural influence, placing music at the heart of its legacy. Through official playlists, large – scale music events, and support for innovative performances across genres, the Games have spotlighted the creativity and global appeal of French artists. For international songwriters and producers, working with French counterparts offers access to a dynamic, well – supported industry that values both artistic experimentation and export potential. French songwriters bring strong lyrical traditions, cross – cultural fluency, and an openness to collaboration – making them valuable creative partners in any international project.
